"The Laws of Attraction are a beautiful, wondrous force of the universe but, when we use them primarily as a tool of acquisition, we are both missing the point and creating a mis-balance. It may not be a question of deserving - we all "deserve" our elbows and our noses. We all deserve to be happy but, if we make that happiness contingent on outside forces, elements, things and people, then we will never be happy because those are all fleeting and the acquisition - the "collecting" of those things that we think will make us happy may only be an act of self-centeredness... which can only lead to jealousy, envy and disappointingly "failed experiments in the laws of attraction."
Instead we hold service to be our highest value. Contentment, joy and satisfaction from service allows for the greatest flow of energies. From there we hold our hopes, dreams and desires as we hold a butterfly in our hand, lightly, delicately and without the voracious urgency of child and his toy - from there true lasting manifestation happens."

Re: "failed experiments in the laws of attraction"
Wed, September 9, 2009 - 4:15 AMSounds like you cats have beautiful heads on their shoulders! However if'n you know someone who is hung up on the 'attraction' and hasn't learned the 'law of allowance', a good companion book is Busting Loose from the Money Game
www.busting-loose-from-the-money-game.com/
The subject is first, getting your power back from the things your energy goes to disliking, feeling uncomfortable about, and hating.
The second half is about getting your power back from the things you really REALLY love...
I found it pretty helpful :D -

Re: "failed experiments in the laws of attraction"
Mon, September 14, 2009 - 10:27 PMAmericans are profoundly self absorbed in the most obnoxious manner.
It only makes sense they would glom onto something like the Law of Attraction
It's very unattractive and by such an action, negates the Law of Attraction

hype....
being self-absorbed and being capitalistic are separate and individual actions...
and not at all traits unique to Americans...
bashing americans or bashing ourselves, or for that matter bashing anyone does no real service...
the only thing we can do is unflinchingly observe our own actions, how these statements may apply to us... (or how they may not)
we are all on a path, if we are here... on tribe, on Abundance Manifestation Network... we have an inkling of deeper meanings and actions in life, it is helpful for us to be aware of the pitfalls and issues we all face... the ones I face my be helpful to you, the ones you face may be helpful to me...
but... if there is any validity to the "law of like attracting like" then when we abhor something... it shows up more and more for us...
and thank god it does! it allows us to be evermore aware of it, and gives us the many opportunities for us to confront it and learn about it and eventually get over it...
