i'm doing the Work of Byron Katie and now im at the point that i'm having problems to word some of my stressfull thoughts...
and im determined to 'undo' myself, hehe...
i have found that one 'thing' we are all dealing with is connected to all areas of our lives and the thing is called - money... and that 'thing as an object of self-inquiry carries a lot of energy - so i fidure - strong underlying beliefs are under these othervise meaningless pieces of paper... good oportunity to see beyond the illusion...
so can you give me your brief insights on:
1.how is money connected to love? why would anyone even think of writing a song 'can't buy me love' if some bizare connection didnt exist?
2. how is money connected to health?
3. how is money connected to self-esteem?
4.how is money connected to work?
5. how is money connected to peace?
6.how is money connected to social life?
7. any other important area of life you find money connected to that i have forgotten to mention...
just allow yourself to brainstorm... no need to be positive or try to make too much sense...
nonsense, paradox and 'truth of the moment' are wellcome...
you can lie, too - it just might become my (and somebody else's) revelation, hehe...
thank you all who care to share!
love
kaalii

Mon, March 17, 2008 - 11:34 AMMoney is more than paper.
Money is what lies under the paper,
the agreements. -

Tue, March 18, 2008 - 5:27 AMA friend of mine refers to money as "Bio-survival tickets." Money gives you tickets to acquire stuff that helps you survive. People who acquire things that they don't need are wasting their tickets; however, people with the most tickets when they die don't win anything.

Mon, March 24, 2008 - 1:02 PMits a beautiful agreement that allows us all the become slaves. When the banks run out they print more and they loan it to us based on an agreement that its worthless, backed by nothing but our hard work.
let the good times roll.
It also lets us live better then the rest of the world, funny money.

Fri, March 28, 2008 - 1:40 PM1.how is money connected to love?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venus is the archetype for both of them
why would anyone even think of writing a song 'can't buy me love' if some bizare connection didn't exist?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think the connection is quite obvious ~ not bizarre at all
2. how is money connected to health?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venus is also the archetype for 'ease of flow' ~ the state that your body is in when it is "healthy"
3. how is money connected to self-esteem?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venus again.
4.how is money connected to work?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
unfortunately it is used mostly as a "reward" (as opposed to the lack of it as "punishment") ~ short term thinking & kinda abusive
5. how is money connected to peace?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
again, unfortunately, it is connected to a short term "peace" as in absence of conflict & appeasement, rather than a part of the foundation for sustained peace
6.how is money connected to social life?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's Venus again!
7. any other important area of life you find money connected to that i have forgotten to mention...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I mentioned Venus, right? I have personally found that examining the deeper archetype/concept of the goddess Venus has given me much insight into society's use of cash.
love all-ways,

Thu, April 10, 2008 - 7:11 AMhaven't had much time to tribe lately... but...
I'll play Kaalii!
<><><><><><><>
1.how is money connected to love?
why would anyone even think of writing
a song 'can't buy me love' if some
bizarre connection didnt exist?
--
money "feels-like" security. anthropologically females are attracted to the male that can give them and their biological investment of offspring the greatest chances of continued survival.
so males are drawn to create those things that have the greater ability to attract a mate.
so, maybe this isn't *love* we are talking about, but it is attraction - the welcome mat of love.

2. how is money connected to health?
--
people (in general - not any of the enlightened beings on this tribe!) stress about money, mostly more than anything else (money being a tool for the access to resources). there is a direct connection to stress and disease.
We ALWAYS have the choice to stress about something or to not stress about it.

3. how is money connected to self-esteem?
--
hate this question - but mostly my own reluctance that rises from it. but, a we all know - those things that cause us the greatest reactions are the things we most need to look at - yes?
For me - it isn't status symbol - it is the basics. I like to eat, and have clothes and to sleep in dry, somewhat secure places - and I also like to see a movie hang with my friends, play, create art, buy tools, contribute to the greater-ness of planetary existence. Doing these things with ease and comfort is a great and glorious place to be - but, when we are not - when we are in struggle - in battle with "whatever it is that is preventing us from being there" our glowing joy, our brightness, our light is not as glorious, bright and glowing as it could be..
and we bumble and mumble and grumble.

4.how is money connected to work?
Direct correlation! that is funny and gratefully it is changing - I am fortunate to make my trade in a way that keeps me ever engaged. but, I think the important energy to adjust our minds around here is that of always thinking that there is a direct correlation - we have to get more nebulous with our "income expectations" design new internal paradigms for attracting money. I love when people offer to pay me for a skill I had not yet realized was a "marketable skill" it is stunning to me (happily stunning!) and I am getting over my knee jerk reaction of - "oh, you don't have to pay me!" and getting to the point where I allow some time to think about the value I am offering - and how it is more than fair to get compensated for it.

5. how is money connected to peace?
--
"every war is fought in the name of god - one way or another"
if money (oil) becomes a god then there is no peace - there is war.
but, but this is the peace that is merely the absence of war - but it would seem - there is something much greater.
and that much greater thing is an action in and of itself not dependent, nor independent upon money.

6.how is money connected to social life?
--
I am in L.A. - with all its blatancy and it's exposed faults and its imperfections - it is a very "money=sucess" town - I can choose to be in that flow or to not be in that flow.
There are some really cool things to do here - many cost money - even "free fridays" at the museums cost for gas or bus fare to get there. even having friends over to the studio to just play costs money for wine/beer/snacks and materials/items to play with.
I think the caution here is to think you have a greater "connection" to people if you are "going out-on-the-town" more often.
acquaintances are not the same as good friends.
there is a time for 5 really good friends sitting around on a warm summer night and there is a time for a room full of acquaintances and strangers.
as I age - I am more inclined toward the former, than the later.

7. any other important area of life you find money connected to that i have forgotten to mention...

money and power. how is money connected to power?
it is a GREAT question to ask - because it makes us look at what "power" is and isn't on a personal and a global scale. How we wield our power, how we can make a change in the way power is wielded over us, etc.
- good luck with this one - to personal a journey for me to share here -
--
money isn't just a piece of paper - I agree - but then...
it *is* just a piece of paper... a piece of paper that we all *AGREE* has value.
it is the action of our tacit agreement that makes things *real*
just like we all *agree* to use language as a shorthand for deeper meaning - the problems arise when we use the shorthand to be the thing.
--
I think it is this... it is all in our perspective.
we can see that money is the cause of many things both great and unfortunate - or we can see that it is a tool that can only "address" some of the issues around those things great and unfortunate - the deeper activity is what we maybe *really* need to address.
ps - don't "undo" yourself too much - there is a great deal of wonder and gloriousness to you that you should maybe hold-on to.
