Open to the New

Fear and doubt hold on to the past. They know only what used to be and what was desired. They know what worked before and what did not. They know what other people have done.

What they do not know is how things are right now, what newness is surrounding you, what possibilities are sparkling around you that have never existed before this very moment. On this, they are completely ignorant.

And since life is change and newness, this is exactly what you need to know, to access. Nothing is ever the way it was. What failed yesterday could succeed today. What was a success yesterday could be a failure today. All is change. All is new, every moment creating
the next moment, all flowing out in newness and discovery, in this great adventure of life.

Open to the new. Use the knowledge and wisdom that you have accumulated over the years; use your talents and skills, of course. But leave behind the old views of what is needed to make your way today, for it is not necessarily the same as what worked for others and worked earlier for you.

Go deep, deep into your center. See the flame that burns there, the light of love. Let that light expand and expand, until it clears your body and mind of fear and doubt. Let it glow within you until you feel cleansed and new, until all worry and anxiety are cleared
away from your body and mind.

And now ask: How shall I approach my life today? How shall I approach this particular person, this situation? And be open to the answer, if it comes in words or pictures, in feelings or in a flash of knowing. Write it down, for the impression may fade over time.

Use your intuition and your connection in this way, reaching above and beyond the narrow confines of fear and doubt, into the wider reaches of a deep connection with all that is.

You have the ability to know, at whatever way knowing is communicated to you, all that is at this moment and all that is likely to be. You have guidance and love surrounding you in every moment, waiting for you to pay attention.

So pay attention. Remove the blinders of fear and doubt and look around. Look around at what is. Look around at what is needed and how you can serve. Raise your attention up into your highest levels and access the guidance that is there for you.

Know this: your higher self and the universe are one, and at this level, your success and welfare are deeply desired. Everything you need to reach a state of grace is made available to you in every moment. Everything you are intended to do and be is there surrounding you and deeply within you. Everything is known and you can access all of this knowledge.

Use your intuition. Use your faith. Use your ability to connect through meditation and contemplation. Tap into it all and the steps before you will light up and your path will be made clear.

Then just take a deep breath, fill yourself with love and faith, and step

Shifting Energy, love prophecy explanation

It has come to my attention that viewers are having trouble opening a link I included in a previous post. This previous message was posted as a loving message to get word out about something that I stumbled upon and found to be a great source of hope. It hurts to imagine that such a movement of healing and love as this would be labeled as SPAM. Although I can understand the confusion, I am reposting with message included, no links, so I am sure that all those who want to receive the message can.

i'm doing the Work of Byron Katie and now im at the point that i'm having problems to word some of my stressfull thoughts...
and im determined to 'undo' myself, hehe...
i have found that one 'thing' we are all dealing with is connected to all areas of our lives and the thing is called - money... and that 'thing as an object of self-inquiry carries a lot of energy - so i fidure - strong underlying beliefs are under these othervise meaningless pieces of paper... good oportunity to see beyond the illusion...

so can you give me your brief insights on:
1.how is money connected to love? why would anyone even think of writing a song 'can't buy me love' if some bizare connection didnt exist?
2. how is money connected to health?
3. how is money connected to self-esteem?
4.how is money connected to work?
5. how is money connected to peace?
6.how is money connected to social life?
7. any other important area of life you find money connected to that i have forgotten to mention...

just allow yourself to brainstorm... no need to be positive or try to make too much sense...
nonsense, paradox and 'truth of the moment' are wellcome...
you can lie, too - it just might become my (and somebody else's) revelation, hehe...

About me:

Six years ago, my life changed in a major way when I was bitten by a Lyme tick the size of a sesame seed, and contracted Lyme disease. In the space of nine months, I went from having a powerful, athletic body which I was very much in command of, to having a significant loss of voluntary motor control in my upper body, along with the involuntary hand and arm tremors, frozen facial muscles, fixed stare, difficulty speaking, and loss of vocal volume which are usually typical of Parkinson's Disease.

Before this, I worked for six years in service to children and families. EnCompass, the non-profit organization I worked for, was dedicated to going beyond increasing psychological/emotional health and effective family communication. Our goal was to bring the whole family into balanced well being.
Following this, I spent four years living and working in Southeast Asia. The entire time I was there I was living with partial paralysis, tremors, speech difficulties, weakness, fatigue and Parkinsonism, all caused by the Lyme Disease. From this I learned humility and courage that I chose to use an opportunity to deepen my connection with my own dignity. I gained a profound respect for the dignity of all people.

I started my environmental activism at the tender age of 15. By the time I was 17, I and the group I was working with, had inspired more than 10,000 public comment letters on U.S. Forest Service proposals to clear-cut old-growth forests in California. At age 17, I also traveled alone to Colorado as a journalist reporting on the Fourth World Wilderness Congress.

I have learned a lot from my experience with having Lyme disease. It has been and continues to be a powerful helper in sorting the wheat from the chaff and getting clear about what my real priorities are. I have been a musician for most of my life. I studied both piano and voice as a child and did a lot of improvisation as a teenager. Even though I took a long break from it, I now see clearly and poignantly that music is central to my being and my life purpose. It is time for me to express, record, and perform the limitless river of music which flows inside of me and is just waiting for an outlet.

I have been hearing a lot about these CD's you listen to while meditating - and they claim that you meditate even deeper than a Zen Monk while listening to the sounds.

It is a new technology which is supposed to balance the brain out and promote "whole brain thinking". Basically better communication between the right and left hemispheres. After a couple of months of regular listening, manifesting what you want and being the person you want to be, becomes almost automatic - they say...

SO Far my goal has been to have enough to share and fecundity wich overflows the basket : enough to go around and some.
Question : if energy planes can be manifested materially how does this flow and what can one do to atrract /Magnatize material resources .

Sure there are lots of things that everybody does and some i'm doing now, Work the job youve chosen or that chose you , side work, mowing lawns even.
In all these things and goals some one has to do some work to make things happen Or...............DO THEY?

First I have to say I have been practicing and visualizing myself as successful and giving out the grattitude and guess what It Works! I am living proof and excited this is working..... I started seeing my BellyDance classes as being super successful and 3 weeks later I picked up many new students and classes are full! I just wanted to mention that to keep everyone's focus on what they are manifesting... it's coming!
Now onto my question... Believing as I do in manifesting and working towards what you are aiming for.... Sometimes things are literally thrown in your face and sometimes they are thrown in your face by people who manipulate and work to screw others over..... I realize by thinking of them I am giving energy in that direction and what I should do is throw all my energy into goodness and what I need to take care of.... On the other hand there is a part of me that gets fed up with everyone just being 'nice' all the time to the minority of people who act incredibly selfish towards others.... knowing all the time that peeps are being 'nice' to cover face......
Part of what I am working on is knowing when do you speak up and when do you walk away? As peeps who are practicing abundance do you completely just walk away or do you from time to time take a stand?
Honestly this is big for me and I could use all the help everyone can give..... Your words are thanked for in advance

Questions about frustration, attachment, and energy dynamics.

I've created a lot of abundance in my life and I am loving it! Getting to buy things and go places and meet people, as well as pay off debt and share with friends, family, and causes in which I believe. Everything I believe is manifesting in amazing and beautiful ways.

I'm wondering about encountering others who are selfish, fearful, and/or practicing famine beliefs. In many cases, I feel like I'm an envoy from a weird cult or religion on abundance, sharing the gospel of plenty, lol. Sometimes, however, I just get miffed when someone so caught up in lack-thinking grabs everything in sight out of fear, impatience, what have you. They create an island of insufficiency around them. I roll my eyes and think (and sometimes say), "Dude! Relax. There's more coming. Share a bit, eh?"

I know if I walk away, I find the green fields and fruit trees of my existence right away. My question is why am I so attached to their actions or fears? Why do I care if someone else believes this "gospel"? Is it because this abundance is not yet fully my habit and their fear resonates with the fading/residual part of my fear? I'm pretty confident in this belief, so I don't feel particularly threatened by a differing belief, but it's possible that's it. It's always nice to have someone validate your beliefs, but I've not found that necessary over the years in order for me to feel comfortable and harmonic with what I practice. Therefore, I don't think it's a validation issue. But again, it's possible.

I think some of it is simply projecting my view of things onto other people, just like many folks do with driving or other social, behavioral expectations. Silly, self-centered stuff that often ends with a, "What the heck are you DOING? It makes no sense!" kind of feeling. But there's more to it that I can't quite define right now.

On a related note, some people, no matter how much abundance you have and willingly share will not realize they, too, can create it for themselves rather than taking from someone else. Where do you draw the line in such a case? I mean, I truly believe in boundless wells of energy and wealth, but maybe my taproot hasn't quite reached the source water yet. Too, I think I'll always be an introvert, and I wonder if that is an issue.

Let me explain... To really simplify for this example, I define introverts as those who recharge primarily alone and extroverts who recharge primarily in groups of people. I enjoy people, don't get me wrong, but in small doses. Most of my Italian friends don't get this at all, lol. Why would you ever want to be alone when you could be out socializing? ;)

So... as I tend to like to apply my life philosophies to all areas of my life with an even hand, if I really believe in boundless manifestation and abundance, at some point shouldn't I just have tons and tons of energy to share with everyone, not being energized or drained by presence or absence? (This is very much along the lines of the Celestine Prophecy, for those who are familiar with that.)

Or did I maybe just choose this incarnation to illustrate to myself that one can be both abundant and separate? I mean, I really enjoy being alone. I do well with a partner who is similarly inclined, and I'm working on bringing that into being again, but I don't know that I will ever be a crowds person. At least, not for long stretches of time. Perhaps oddly (or not), part of the reason I moved to Italy was to be more social, or at least have more opportunities to do so. It's been wonderful -- there's always something going on, yet I can retreat to my quiet place whenever needed.

I joined this tribe with intention. After all these years we have manifested buying a restaurant. The guy just gave us a reasonable counter offer on the building. We will go on Sunday to sign his counter offer. It has taken a lot of mental attitude change for this to come to fruition.
I am thankful to the universe and Gaia. I figure I can keep that positive ball rolling by joining this tribe. Positivity works!!!!

Abundance vs. Mass consciousness

How do we, as individuals and small groups, maintain a consciousness of abundance when there is so much fear and scarcity being broadcast all around us? Part of it is the mass media, but many alternative points of view are also predicting disaster, economic collapse and the like. I guess I was reminded of this question by all the talk of economic problems over the last week. One answer is to not pay attention to the mass media and focus on your own thoughts, which is what I basically believe. The only potential problem with this is that most of us are part of the wider economy, and therefore somewhat dependent on it. For example, if we live in America and use dollars, we are part of that economy. If we are employed, we depend on the company we work for. If we are in business, we depend on customers, etc. I guess the basic question is this -is it possible to live in abundance regardless of what is going on in the wider society?

Sedona Method

Has anyone taken this course or listened to their tapes? I just listened to the tape set for the second time and find it's very complementary with Law of Attraction/Secret/Abraham teachings. The Sedona Method focuses on simple techniques for releasing unwanted emotions. This is where most people get stuck when trying to manifest. As Abraham says, it's natural to desire and for the universe to answer our desires but we have to be in a state of allowing. The things that block allowing are limiting beliefs and emotional states. Learning to easily let go of these can free us to focus on the positive.

I just posted the following as a blog, but this lost gem of a book is worth sharing with those I don't know.

Preparing offerings for my first tribal workshops at school tomorrow, I read a short book this afternoon that someone gave me years ago, in the form of a dozen photocopied pages stapled together. I had never read it before, but for some reason it has been on my mind and I felt the need to read it today. Sure enough, it was the perfect intro to action hero training-- providing insights on discovering one's totem, developing a persona, keeping a journal, seeing through illusion, and creating reality.

Below are my notes, which do not follow exactly how it is actually written, but are a short summery of what I gathered.

What you see is what you get. Create your reality. Transform visions into reality. Connect with your world. Live in the present. Believe. Trust yourself, trust the world. Actualize your potential. If you can't feel your own miraculousness, you are missing the quintessential experience of life.

Love/hate is a basic dualism-- that of invisible but powerful forces equally opposed: love saves the world every day, hate daily destroys it.

Expand your views. The most powerful force in your life is your perspective. The direction you look is the way you are going.

Create a personal myth. Persona is defined as a "role that a person assumes in order to display his conscious intent to himself and others." A persona is not a substitute for, nor an imposter of yourself; rather, it is an extension that allows you to go beyond what you presently know about yourself. It's good advice to consciously visualize and project an image of yourself. Do not confuse yourself with your persona. The role is only one of the endless extensions of yourself. Refine and redefine yourself. A well-chosen persona (which is a kind of personal myth) effectively generates energy because it automatically introduces us to other varieties of reality. Putting on the mask makes us want to dance; so off we go, and the rest is reality.

You are your own expert. I can't be your expert, only your advisor; and I advise you to go out and become your own expert. You can choose to figure it out for yourself, suffering and rejoicing in it as you will. Your life is all for you, uniquely styled in your own vision; and like it or not, nothing can take away your right and duty to live it as fully as you can. You have the power to do this. The only limitations are those you choose, and those imposed by your conditioning, which masks your real freedom. As Tim Leary said, "You can be anything you want this time around."

Discover your Totem. Normally we are wrapped in routines, unconscious of the cosmic news and views being broadcast on some other channels. We need a tuning device, and personal "totem" can be such a device. A totem is some natural entity or form, usually an animal or plant species, that is psychically related to you, and which usually represents or symbolizes yourself. A totem is thus a type of omen with personal significance, a personal symbol that directs your attention alone to its meaning. You do not choose your totem; it chooses you. If you don't know your totem, pay more attention to the phenomena of the natural world and try to discover which of them have an affinity or special connection to you. Often you already have a totem but aren't aware of it, even though you collect or employ images of it in your work or play, or attach significance to it in dreams or fantasies.

Pay attention to everyone you meet. When you meet someone on your psychic wavelength, the power in that connection has no bounds. People do not appear in your life entirely by chance; anyone can be a psychic messenger or energy-bearer with hot news from the frontlines of your consciousness and your cosmic condition.

Energy always manifests in either the physical or metaphysical form. Everything in the world has form--a shape if it’s a physical structure or a symbolical pattern if it’s a metaphysical structure. Routines and habits are examples of metaphysical forms extending through time. They are the Known, protecting us from the Unknown.

Habits are also called home. Habits tame the raw wilderness of existence into the civilized comforts of everyday life. Unfortunately, as we all know, habits gradually domesticate all the wildness and energy out of life. So much energy gets bound up in the routines and habituated patterns, keeping them alive, that your life goes dead instead. Thus, if you want to discover again the wild side of life, you have to leave your comfort zone; you have to break or dissolve your habits in order to release the energy locked up inside of them. Break a habit for freedom!

Books that come into your life at the right time are also omens and indicators of energy directions. Books themselves are vehicles for energy transfer-- artifacts from magic distilled from the miracle of mind, and can easily reshape or direct your ideas and hence change your life.

Dreams are another metaphysical information source. The energizing takes place in all planes of consciousness. Writing down your dreams in a journal reinforces and strengthens the channel, and records this delicate and transitory information for later study before it slips back into the magical realm.

Keep a journal that records your metaphysical reality: omens, intuitions, emotions, dreams, drawings, doodles, coincidences, marvel, mysteries, names, and numbers. It will sharpen your perception of holistic reality, and therefore, of magic. Anyplace can be magical. What matters most is not what happens, but how we respond to what happens.

The illusion was created out of fear and ignorance, by old imprints. From time immemorial, mankind has chosen a view of reality that it could control in order to escape feeling helpless in a seemingly unpredictable universe. Language and culture were creatively invented to capture and shape the raw energy of life into something we could relate to, a set of black/white boxes containing absolutely everything. Meanwhile, energy itself goes rolling formlessly along, endlessly unable to be contained in those tiny boxes. You get what you've been set up for (your imprints) and what you've set yourself up for (your choices).

More than anything else, fear holds us back from knowing ourselves, and thus the Gestapo of consciousness, the internal secret-police force that tries to keep us locked up in the concentration camp of our minds.

Living in the present moment is to be new always, reborn endlessly. It is to recapture the innocence and trust of childhood, of a time before the phantoms of the past and future weighed us down with anxiety, guilt and resentment. We were all born without fear, with no thought of life as a hostile experience. We intuitively knew we belonged here in this world, with no need to fear anything in it.

Your so-called reality is just a taste of pie in an endless bakery, an appetizer in one plane to interest you in some of the endless others, depending on how much reality you want and can deal with.

MONEY AND MISERY

I have to admit that I am struggling-- I am a newbie here so bear with me please.

For years I have 'shared' myself with those in this world, mostly looking upon my life with gratitude for all the challenging situations that I created, or had cause to understand that I created. I tell myself daily that I am healthy, happy, perfect, loving, complete etc but I feel like a fake. I am so tired of being tired and struggling to feed myself. I am soooo trapped in my illusionary reality that my exhaustion has now completely turned me into the one kind of person I never imagined I could be... defeated.

Does having money mean having abundance... or is abundance just a word that describes 'plenty of'? I have an abundance of woes at present but I crave/desire/wish abundance of the other kind... a roof of my own and a square meal.

I read in someone's post earlier that he came from a place beyond broke.

I want to know a quick ****** 1 to 10 steps******* of getting from beyond broke and broken-hearted to beyond abundant!

The lack of money has created joys in many areas of my life... when we (the kids and I) could 'go' nowhere without money, we went bush walking, or spent hours talking, appreciating the dragonflies in our garden and the other wonders of nature...

But, when a mother can no longer afford to feed her children and have to let others take the reins.... I want to ask MONEY why it avoids me so much.

Radio documentary searching for people who have fallen in love online

I’m a journalist and a masters student at the Columbia University School of Journalism, and I’m producing a half-hour radio documentary that in part seeks to explore how the Internet is changing the ways we fall in love. I’m searching for individuals who met online—whether through a dating site or through MySpace, Facebook, Tribe, etc.—and fell or began to fall in love through online correspondence and/or chatting before meeting in person. I’m interested in interviewing individuals and couples from both current and past relationships that started online.

I will need to record the conversation, as the project is for radio. My intention is to pitch the documentary in whole or in part to national and local NPR programs, and I have received initial interest from several venues.

2007 has been a big year for the Heartsong Herbal Brewing Company. We moved from the Jacksonville brewery to the Chai Hut in Ashland. We opened the Chai Hut Food Artisans Gallery and Café. We introduced our third Pepper Brew, the Mate Fire. We created “The Goddess” our traveling tea bar. And we built our factory. Meanwhile, we continued serving the regions of Portland, Eugene and Ashland by brewing on the stove in ten-gallon batches and bottling by hand.

We moved to the Chai Hut with one goal: to increase production. But as soon as we moved in, Ashland people began to ask for a teahouse. In response to this demand, the Chai Hut has become a friendly teahouse that promotes organic foods, employs local people, hosts live music, sponsors community meetings, participates in youth internship programs and gives tours.

Our greatest accomplishment this year was the launch of our manufacturing facility. Gone are the days of hand filling and capping every bottle! We now brew in 100-gallon batches and bottle with an automatic filler and capper. With consistent, big batch production, the Heartsong crew is now focused on sales. In December Heartsong products were picked up by Northwest Natural Foods, a Eugene based distributor whose niche is Oregon natural foods. With the help of Northwest Naturals, our products are now available in Bend, Mt. Shasta and at Whole Foods in Portland.

In the past year we’ve invested heavily into our infrastructure with an eye toward creating a long lasting, profitable local business. These investments have not been free, and we find ourselves in the difficult position of having to reconcile our short-term expenses while our sales numbers catch up with our new capacity. Rather than trying to get expensive loans from multinational banking conglomerates to fill this gap, we turn to you, our community to help us through.

We hope to find 100 people who are willing to offer short-term loans of at least $100. We will use this money carefully as working capital, to purchase ingredients and pay bills. We welcome loans with a one-year pay back and we gratefully welcome gifts also. Success in this fund raising campaign will empower Heartsong to expand sales through consistent production. First Heartsong Brews saturate Portland. Second, sales expand to Seattle. Third, we douse San Francisco.

Longest Night of the Year

The winter solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. The sun appears at its lowest point in the sky, and its noontime elevation appears to be the same for several days before and after the solstice. Hence the origin of the word solstice, which comes from Latin solstitium, from sol, “sun” and -stitium, “a stoppage.” Following the winter solstice, the days begin to grow longer and the nights shorter.

Sat., Dec. 22, 2007, 1:08 A.M. EST (06:08 UT), marks the solstice—the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and summer in the Southern Hemisphere (FYI - that is 10:08pm Dec. 21, 2007 PST)

The celebration of the Winter Solstice, often referred to as Yule, is common to many cultures. Although some have since adopted it as a birth date and called it Christmas, it has retained ancient tradition and can be shared together by many.

The word ‘Yule’ is likely derived from the Norse "iul" or the Anglo-Saxon "hweol", both meaning "Wheel". The word ‘Holidays’ is likely derived from the word “Whole” which means to make complete.

In earlier periods, December 20th through the 25th was commemorated as the Birth of the Sun, since every new day has more and more light until summer solstice. January 6 (the Old Christmas date) was a Dionysian festival. In Ancient Egypt, a celebration dedicated to Osiris was held at this time.

Yule is a celebration of the rebirth of the Sun. The longest night of the year falls on Winter Solstice. Yule celebrated the coming light. It was traditionally an occasion to look on the past year's achievements and to celebrate with family and friends. This day is the first day of winter.

In this, the darkest period of the year, what better way to celebrate the return of light and warmth than to feast and make merry. Therefore, like the other festivals of the year, Yule was a great social occasion, relieving for a brief moment the hardship and monotony of what was for many, subsistence living. Yule was also generally characterized as a period of rest, where only the most vital domestic chores were carried out about the house and farm.

In earlier days it is inferred that the Yule festival began on the eve of December 12. Even the duration of the festivities varies depending on the account and the period of origin. One record states that although some feasted for twelve days after Yule day, it was known for others to continue right up to the 24th night. Throughout this period feasts and parties were commonplace with fiddling, dancing and merriment going on late into each night.

Yule is also known as the Winter Solstice, Festival of Sol, Yuletide, Great Day of the Cauldron, and Festival of Growth. It is celebrated between December 20th and 22nd, depending on when the Sun reaches the southern most point in its yearly cycle.

Yule was one of the four fire festivals of the year. At Beltane, Midsummer, Hallowmass and Yule, massive communal fires were lit to mark the occasion.

Many customs have survived from Pre-Christian times that lend themselves quite nicely to rituals today. Over the years, the pagan Yule traditions were overlaid with elements of Christianity, yet ancient Yuletide customs persist such as decorating an evergreen tree, the colors red and green, gift giving, throwing parties, sending greetings, the wreath, fruitcakes, dried fruit, eggnog, wassail and gingerbread people. The plants & herbs associated with Yule are holly, mistletoe, evergreens, poinsettia, bay, pine, ginger, myrrh, valerian.

The ever-popular Yule Log was another element. Traditionally, the Yule Log has been of oak, ash or beech, ritually cut (often at Dawn) and ceremonially carried into the house. Toasts were often drunk with wine, cider or brandy, in those early morning hours, giving the participants a good head-start on the festivities.

A lesser known tradition is that of the Yule Clog. The Clog was a knobby block of wood, burnt in the kitchen hearth. In many parts of Scandinavia, the object burnt was a fat wax candle, instead of a log. The candle was lit at Dawn and burnt until Midnight.

Wassailing is another happy survival of an old tradition. "Wassail" comes from the Anglo-Saxon "Waes Hael", which has been translated to "Be Well," "Be Whole" or "Be Healthy"…making it a shared blessing, a mutual well-wishing.

Traditionally, carolers went from door to door, singing and bearing their "Wassail Cups", to be rewarded with the drink and fruited breads or other sweets.

Music was a part of this festival. Many of the "Christmas" carols are just as suited to Yule, with virtually no change.

In Winter, when much is brown and dead, the evergreens symbolize immortality. They are reminders of the survival of life in the plant world, a means of contact with the Spirit of Growth and Fertility, which has been threatened by the absence of Light. Especially good for this purpose are plants like Holly and Mistletoe, which actually bear fruit in Winter.

Decorating with evergreens over the Yule period is an ancient custom, most commonly seen today in Christmas trees and wreaths. Such plants were considered powerful because they were evidently alive at this seemingly dead part of the year, and so are symbolic of the survival and rebirth of the sun at Yule. An evergreen Yule wreath symbolizes the survival of sun through the wheel of the year and the circling cycle of life.

The roots of Christmas may be considered Pagan, with it's associations of Nordic divination, Celtic fertility rites, and Roman Mithraism. That is why it is written that both Martin Luther and John Calvin (early reformers of the church) abhorred it, why the Puritans my have refused to acknowledge it, much less celebrate it, and why it was even made ILLEGAL in Boston.

The holiday was already too closely associated with the birth of older Pagan hero mythology. And many of them (like Oedipus, Theseus, Hercules, Perseus, Jason, Dionysus, Mithra, Horus and even Arthur) possessed a narrative of birth, death, and resurrection that was uncomfortably close to that of another story.

Saturnalia, the Romans' seven-day festival in honor of Saturn, took place from 17-23 December each year and was a time of great merriment and gift-giving. The Roman name of the Yule festival was Sol Invictus - the Undefeated Sun, and this was designated as a Birthday for Christians years later in 336 by Pope Julius I.

December 25th slowly began to catch on. By 529, it was a civic holiday, and work or public business (except that of cooks, bakers, or any that contributed to the delight of the holiday) was prohibited by the Emperor Justinian. In 563, the Council of Braga forbade fasting on Christmas Day, and four years later the Council of Tours proclaimed the twelve days from December 25 to Epiphany as a sacred, festive season. More than a thousand years later, the season of giving was widely adopted by consumer culture.
Several other festivals celebrating the cycle of life coincide with other holidays such as Vernal Equinox (or Oestre) with Easter.

Oestre, or the Vernal Equinox, is the midpoint in the seasons between the Winter and Summer Solstices.

Oestre is a Pagan celebration of spring and fertility. The word “Easter” is derived from the word Oestre. The origin of the word "east" comes from various Austro-Hungarian and Germanic words for dawn that share the root for the word "aurora"…which means "to shine".

The Vernal Equinox usually falls somewhere between March 19th and 22nd and depending upon when the first full moon on or after the Equinox occurs, Easter falls sometime between late-March and mid-April.

Because the Equinox and Easter are so close, many of those who celebrate Easter often see this holiday as being synonymous with rebirth and rejuvenation: the symbolic resurrection is echoed in the awakening of the plant and animal life around us. If we look more closely at some of these customs, perhaps we may notice the origins as pagan…or perhaps pre-pagan yet not historically noted.

Remembering that many holiday customs are based upon older customs, we can share many common customs with our friends, albeit with a slightly different interpretation. And thus, we all share in the beauty of this season as the wheel of life is set in motion again and again

The key to experiencing the magic and miracles in your life is the level of allowing and the focused clear vibration that you are offering your reality. Since manifestation is always taking place in the lives of humans, the key to remember is to observe where you place your focus and your vibrational attention.

This observation will clearly show exactly what has been the focus and what has been the emotional vibration that has been offered by anyone into their reality. Most focus on what they "do not" want to unfold in their lives and reality, rather than focusing on the delicious unfolding of dreams and goals. Same process, every human is creating their personal experiences and drawing to them what they hold in their vibrational field.

The mass conscious grid holds the patterns of fear, worry, stress, and powerlessness. It is the evolution of each human to recognize that this grid does not belong to them. This grid of limitation, of fear, of mistrust and powerlessness is part of the matrix of the planetary hologame, simply that.

Once the individual human recognizes this illusion, these programmed beliefs, they can certainly and consciously make a shift to create and allow a different result. Each human is a multidimensional starbeing with the incredible ability which molds and sculpts their very existence.

In this hologame on your planet, humans have been taught they are at the effect of events; they do not have the ability or the skills to shift their lot in life. They are taught to vibrate, hold the pattern and hold the thoughts/emotions of unworthiness, impotence, lack and fear. Human are rarely taught or made aware of their incredible authority, their omnipotence, their personal power to bring into reality and manifest their highest vision and dream.

This is changing, this is shifting, this is the evolution of the human spirit awakening. Everyone is experiencing this change and this shift in how the view their reality. One by one each human is claiming their mastery, claiming their authority and stepping into their personal sovereignty. They are recognizing the truth that they are responsible, they hold the power to make an incredible difference in what they experience in the day to day unfolding in their lives. Joy, gratitude and appreciation are the keys to this power. It is all vibrations.

What will the holidays bring? While you might be looking forward to visiting with family, stress and conflict maybe often a part of the mix. The latest research on stress shows that short term stress is actually good for your immune system. I guess that confirms the old saying, "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Conflict can help you clarify your values, to stand up for what you believe in. Stress can be energizing, can help you accomplish what you need to in the world...but how much stress? how much conflict? Long-term stress is what makes us sick. So how do you know when to put on the brakes, to stop saying "yes" to extraneous commitments, to stop engaging in unnecessary conflict?

These aren't new questions, they have been asked for centuries. As the end of 2007 approaches, you may be taking stock, looking at what has transpired and what is to come, defining new samkalpas (resolutions) and perspectives, and reflecting on the meaning of inner and outer peace.

Abundance of JOY!!!

Please forgive my bragging, but right now I am SOOOOO happy! We just got back from my son's football banquet. I'm so proud of him! He was named All District First Team Linebacker and All District First Team Academic!!! He also got the "Most Improved Player of the Year" award. He went from not even starting JV last year to getting this honor this year. He worked so hard and pushed himself while taking college classes while in High School.

I'm a bit sad that he is a senior, but he is so ready to go to college. He is also first in his class academically and Secretary of the Senior class.

My kids bring me an amazing abundance of joy. They don't have to earn these awards and they know that I love them for who they are, not what they do, but I am so proud of him and so happy because he is so happy.
